KENNETH FRANKLIN "KEN"/"KENNY" BAIRD ~ Class of 1969
July 29, 1951 - May 26, 2006
Long time resident of Florence, OR Kenneth Franklin Baird passed away from congestive heart failure on May 26, 2006. Kenny was born in Walla Walla on July 29, 1951.
In 1958 he moved with his parents to Richland where he attended Sacajawea Elementary School, Chief Joseph Junior High School and Richland's Columbia High School with the Class of 1969.
He later moved to Clarkston, WA where he worked for Potlatch in Lewiston, ID after his military service during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Florence Moose Lodge.
Ken moved to Florence, OR nearly 20 years ago where he was a well-known and respected contractor. He had many friends. He was known as "Scot" in and around Florence. He was always "Ken" to his mother.
He is survived by his wife, Verla of Florence; his parents: Ruby and Jerry Adams of West Richland, and Ken and Helen Baird of Clarkston; and his son, K.C. Baird in the U.S. Army. Other survivors include his sisters: Katherine Baird ('65) of Mukilteo, Rosemary Miller ('66) of Puyallup and Char Miller of Puyallup; and his brother, Greg Miller of Puyallup. He left behind nieces, nephews, cousins and three grandchildren. Also his dogs who were his pals, Buster and Rosie.
Preceding him in death was an infant daughter, Tammy.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
As per his wishes, in lieu of flowers, he requested donations to the American Heart Association.
Burial was in the Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens in College Place, WA.
