Sandra Bishop Smith passed away at her home in Kennewick on August 1, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving friends and family. Sandra was born in Richland on June 9, 1951 to Edna Mitilla and Horace Bishop. She grew up and attended school in the Richland area graduating with the Class of 1969 from Richland's Columbia High School.

Sandra enjoyed making ceramics, participating in aerobics and riding her Harley. She had a love for keeping her yard "The Best One on the Block". She prized her collection of sunflowers and the sun and the moon. Sandra spent time listening to her favorite band, the Beatles, and being at the coast. Sandra was a huge fan of baseball and the Mariners. She could always be found in a ball cap cheering for her favorite team, the Red Sox.

In 1970, after graduating from Richland's Columbia High School in 1969, she joined work forces at Lamb Weston, where she enjoyed her job very much.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Amy Lynn Smith Downs; her son, Christopher Wade Smith, and his wife, Lisa Middleton Smith; grandchildren: Riley, Rhiannon, Ryan, Jared and Lily; sister, Carol Bishop Horne ('57); brother-in-law, Gene Horne ('57); and multiple other family members too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death on January 28, 2007 by her husband, Dennis Wade Smith; and by her sister, Suzie Bishop Henn ('62), who passed away on November 21, 2007.

Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at The Tower of Pentecost Church located at 930 Aaron Drive in Richland.

Donations in Sandra's name can be sent to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center at 7350 W. Deschutes Avenue; Kennewick, WA 99336

Her father, Horace, passed away at the age of 72 on February 5, 1985.

Her mother, Edna, passed away at the age of 91 in 2006.

Her brother-in-law, Gene Horne ('57), passed away on January 11, 2022.

Her sister, Carol Bishop Horne ('57), passed away on January 19, 2022.
