Lyn Soehnlein 73, of Mesa, AZ was born Linda Kay Dreher on November 21, 1950 to Carl Dreher and Jean Williamson Dreher of Richland.

She passed away January 26, 2024 in Mesa, AZ after a three-year battle with a rare, aggressive and incurable form of thyroid cancer.

Lyn fought for her life from the very beginning. She was premature and weighed less than two pounds at birth. At the time, that was a record for Kadlec Hospital in Richland.

Growing up she attended Spalding Elementary School, Carmichael Junior High School and graduated from Richland's Columbia High School in 1969.

She met the love of her life, Karl Soehnlein ('69), in high school and married in 1970.

She had two very successful careers. The first a journeymen baker and cake decorator (wedding cakes). The second a staff accounting supervisor for a Fortune 100 bank.

Prior to retiring with husband Karl in Mesa, AZ in 2016, she previously lived in Idaho, California and Texas.

Her main hobby was spoiling the grandkids and quilting. In addition to keeping the Amazon driver busy.

She is survived by her husband, Karl Soehnlein; her daughter, Jennifer DeKorte (Chris); her son, Mark Soehnlein (Linda); and three grandchildren: Jeffrey DeKorte, Emma DeKorte and Annalyn Soehnlein.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Dreher ('47); and her brother, Steven Dreher ('70) .
