Steve Hovely, 57, of Baker City, died July 4, 2009 in Ontario, Oregon. He was born November 23, 1951 in Oxnard, California to Donald Joseph Hovley and Patricia Ione Havens Hovley.

He was raised in Simi Valley, California and Pasco, Washington. Steve graduated with the Class of 1969 from Richland's Columbia High School.

Steve moved to Yakima, where he met and fell in love with Cherie Massey. They were married March, 1976. Steve, Cherie and her son, Scott, lived in Madras and Klamath Falls.

Cherie died of cancer on January 16, 2000.

Survivors include his 12 siblings: Donna, Elle, Vince ('68), Sue, Cam, George, Mark, Art, Ben, Julie and Pete; his step-son, Scott Roush; his Aunt Catherine Elliot; his cousin, Susanne Salles; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cherie; his granddaughter, Sierra Roush; and his parents, Donald and Patricia Hovely.

Note: His brother,
Vince ('68), passed away July 5, 2019.
