BOMBER MEMORIAL

JAMES WILLIAM "JIM" JONES JR ~ Class of 1969
September 22, 1951 - September 22, 2016

Jim Jones

James William Jones Jr, also known as Jim to his friends and family, and Dad to his only son, died on September 22, 2016. Ironically, Jim died on the day of his birth in Las Vegas, NV, at the age of 65.

He had a fairly successful lawn service business for many years until tragedy struck him with a double brain aneurysm in 1995. He made a miraculous recovery from his aneurysm and was quickly back to work with his lawn care business until approximately 2001, when he started having random seizures as a result of the aneurysm years before. Jim decided to get out of the heat and try his hand at tending bars until he was unable to work anymore due to latent problems brought on by the aneurysm. He was also known by many as an excellent fisherman and amazing creative cook. He had a big heart and would always help his friends, family and neighbors wherever possible.

Jim will be missed, but never forgotten.

He is survived by his son, Leland Jones; his two grandchildren, Mckenzie and Kailey Jones; his sister, Sandy Fishback ('65) and her husband, Roger ('62); his nephew, James Fishback ('88); great-nephew, Tyler Fishback; and his niece, Alyssa Kupka ('94) and her husband, John.
