Jon Dale Mason was born July 15, 1951 in Chicago, IL to Robert Louis Mason and Beatrice Elizabeth "Bessie" Kristoff Mason. He passed away at the age of 67 in Coeur d'Alene, ID on December 16, 2018.

He graduated with the Class of 1969 from Richland's Columbia High School.

Jon married Trudy Lawrence in Yakima on January 18, 1971. To this marriage three children were born. Their daughter, Erin Star Mason, was born on August 26, 1974 and passed away at the age of 24 on July 19, 1999.

He was a 42-year resident of Bonner County.
