A celebration of the life of Raymond W. Crowe Sheeley, 55, of Bandon, OR will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Bandon's City Park.

Ray was born May 27, 1951 on a farm near Bardstown, KY to Geneva (Holt) and Raymond W. Crowe. He died October 19, 2006 in a one-car accident south of Winchester Bay, OR on U.S. Highway 101.

He moved to Richland in 1955 with his mother and brother. Ray attended schools in Richland and Prosser with the Class of 1969.

He married Janet Turner ('69), his high school sweetheart and had two children. He worked for several companies in the Hanford, WA area but is best remembered for his long-term employment as a shoe salesman at Carl's in the original Columbia Center.

In 1983, Ray moved to Eugene where he worked as a salesman for several office equipment companies. In 1989, Ray moved to Omak where he worked for Pardners and Chevron mini markets, Johnny Appleseed and operated an adult care home. In 1998, Ray and his companion, Linda Wurster, moved to Bandon where he lived until his death.

Ray will be remembered by his family and friends as a man who had many struggles in life but who always had a great sense of humor, never forgot a joke and was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it no matter how little or how much he had. He will be greatly missed.

Ray is survived by his children, Melanie and Shawn both of Portland; his companion of 14 years, Linda Wurster of Bandon; his brother, Dave Sheeley ('67) of Omak; three grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and many friends in Washington and Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and stepson, Josh.
