DEBORAH SUE ALLESSIO ANTHONY ~ Class of 1969

Deborah S. Anthony, a Baltimore elementary school social worker, died of ovarian cancer Friday, February 21, 2003, at her Millersville home. She was 51.
The former Deborah S. Allessio was born on September 21, 1951 in Richland, WA where was raised and graduated with the Class of 1969 from Richland's Columbia High School. She earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Maryland in 1978. She returned there and earned a Master's degree in social work in 1984.
From 1984 until 1990, Mrs. Anthony was a therapist and counselor for the Anne Arundel County Rape Crisis Hotline. Since then, she had been a social worker at the city's Liberty Elementary School.
Mrs. Anthony enjoyed reading and travel, and attending games of and supporting the Severna Park High School football team. She was also an accomplished interior decorator and gourmet cook.
Mrs. Anthony was a communicant of our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church, 1069 Cecil Ave., Millersville, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. today.
Mrs. Anthony is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bruce R. Anthony; a son, Christopher Anthony; and a daughter, Jennifer L. Anthony, both of Millersville; her parents, Rudy and Lindy Allessio of Richland; a brother, Rick Allessio ('74) of Spokane; two sisters, Cindy Allessio of Anchorage, Alaska and Janet Hamilton of Wilson, NC; and many nephews and nieces.
